The Writer's Circle

The First Tuesday Writer's Circle is a place where experienced and beginning writers meet, experiment, share work and discuss writing insights and spiritual growth.

We meet the first Tuesday of the Month at 7:15 pm. Group members take turns leading discussions, giving presentations and reading a bit of work. A ten minute writing exercise is part of the fun. Copies of work in progress can be passed out to be taken home for comments.

Literary Parties

The Word Shop's Literary Parties happen monthly, usually the Third Friday at 1:30. Every month we focus on a different genre. The genre for May 2012 is 19th Century English Literature.

The Publishing Project

Six people from the First Tuesday Writing Group are currently in the throes of publishing an anthology of work from Word Shop writers. The working title is This is Terrible; Word Shop Writers at Work. W@W. We meet the third Tuesday evening of the month and hope to have the work completed before Christmas of last year.

Prayer on Paper

A weekly hour of Lower Room Prayer from Easter to Pentecost, beginning April 13, 2012. We'll follow the catagories of traditional prayers of the people, spend around 20 minutes journaling with writing and/or art, and then offer it all to the Lord. Join us at The Word Shop Fridays at noon. Bring your own journals or use the supplies on hand.
