The Writer's Circle

The First Tuesday Writer's Circle is a place where experienced and beginning writers meet, experiment, share work and discuss writing insights and spiritual growth.

We meet the first Tuesday of the Month at 7:15 pm. Group members take turns leading discussions, giving presentations and reading a bit of work. A ten minute writing exercise is part of the fun. Copies of work in progress can be passed out to be taken home for comments.

"If only I may grow: firmer, simpler, -- quieter, warmer." -Dag Hammarskjold, Secretary General of the United Nations, Nobel laureate (1905-1961)

Spiritual Practices

Could your spiritual practices use more...um...Practice?

We're doing a 4-week Lenten Series on Spiritual Practices beginning Friday, February 23 from 1:30 to 2:30.

Each week we'll have a 10 minute presentation by different people, followed by discussion. The themes include The Names of God, Healing with Illustrated Journaling, Creating Sacred Space, and Repentance.

Words Made Flesh

Give yourself the gift of time. Time to write, draw, paint. Re-create. Time to sit quietly and listen. How can you hear God, when you can't even hear yourself think? Come to The Word Shop on the second Tuesday of the month from 12:30 to 2:30. We read the next chunk of John's Gospel and then write, draw, paint, or just sit. Some people work on ongoing projects. Others flow with what happens in the moment. After a time apart, we come back together and share the fruit of our experience. You are welcome to join this small, friendly group.

"For me, writing is exploration; and most of the time, I'm surprised where the journey takes me."--Jack Dann
